Extension of the Stay of Foreigners in Ukraine

Many foreigners come to Ukraine for business, tourist, or other purposes for a certain period and then try to extend it. In the presence of one or more of the grounds provided by law, a foreigner must act according to a certain algorithm:

• to collect papers confirming the identity and legality of the grounds for staying in our country;
• provide evidence of financial capacity and justification of the grounds for extension;
• with a full package of documents to apply to the LCA;
• pay for the service and wait for the decision of the migration service.

• Passports of the foreigner and the host party (individual or head of the legal entity) and copies.

• the foreigner has not complied with the court decision, has property obligations to the state, etc.

Whatever the purpose of the foreigner’s visit to Ukraine, the violator will be punished for violating the term of stay: administrative penalty.

Also, an offender whose stay in the country threatens national security, the health of Ukrainian citizens, or public order may be forcibly returned to the country of origin with a ban on entry for 3 years.

If a foreigner refuses to comply with a court decision on forced return to his country, forced expulsion with a ban on entering Ukraine for 5 years is applied.
