On February 7, 2023, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine adopted a decision on the number of quotas for issuing permits for immigration to Ukraine for certain categories of immigrants, by Article 5 of the Law of Ukraine "On Immigration" and issued Order No. 111-r.
Let's consider in more detail which categories are included in the quota.
The first category is representatives of science and culture, whose immigration serves the interests of Ukraine. A quota of 850 permits has been established for this category throughout Ukraine.
The second category includes highly qualified specialists who are urgently needed for the development and growth of the economic state of Ukraine. Such foreigners will be granted 5,000 immigration permits.
The third category is investors who invested in the economy of Ukraine from 100 thousand US dollars. Even though this is a quota category, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine for 2023 removed all restrictions on the number of granted immigration permits for investors. This is very good news, considering how much our country needs "smart" money and talented entrepreneurs.
The fourth category is relatives of citizens of Ukraine, brother or sister, grandfather or grandmother, grandson or grandson. All over Ukraine, 845 permits will be issued for such relatives.
The fifth category is foreigners who have obtained (or lost) Ukrainian citizenship. Thus, it is planned to issue 396 immigration permits.
The sixth category is relatives of immigrants, parents, husband or wife, and minor children. 2,055 permits for such foreigners have been approved.
The seventh category is military personnel who have served in the Armed Forces for three or more years. It is planned to register 57 immigrants under this category.
The total number of quotas for immigration to Ukraine is set at 9,203.
